Transitioning from scientist to tech entrepreneur requires much more than a simple change of job: it is a real transition in culture, pace and responsibilities.

It involves gradually learning new professions and fields, often far removed from academia or research: entrepreneur, product manager, technical director, sales, marketing, finance, operations, strategy, fundraising, etc.

This evolution does not happen overnight. It is built in stages, through projects, trials, difficult decisions, and sometimes mistakes. Along the way, concrete feedback from people who have already been through this process is particularly valuable: it saves time, helps avoid certain pitfalls, provides a better understanding of market expectations, and gives a more realistic view of the challenges ahead.

It is with this in mind that the start-up studio wishes to strengthen exchanges between generations of entrepreneurs.

We are therefore looking for alumni who are willing to devote a little time to supporting the studio's project leaders, through a video exchange once a year.

The objective is simple: to offer a direct, useful and pragmatic exchange based on your experience.

These discussions can focus on key stages in your career path, skills to develop, best practices in a particular field (product, tech, business, finance, etc.), as well as understanding a sector of activity: its players, codes, sales cycles, constraints, and realities on the ground. Even a single discussion can break a deadlock, help structure an approach, or prevent you from heading in the wrong direction.

If you are interested in contributing to this dynamic and sharing your experience, please contact: sophie.pellat[at]inria.fr
