Inria+alumni wants to develop communities in Germany and the United States. We are counting on you to spread the word among your former colleagues living in these countries! And to join us and these Inria+alumni groups if you are interested! You will meet or reconnect with members within a dynamic network!

Are you German or American?
Have you worked or are you currently working in Germany or the US?
Have you stayed in these countries as part of your studies/training?

In Germany

Germany has always been an important country for Inria, notably with a strategic partnership in AI with DFKI since 2020: https://www.inria.fr/fr/partenariat-europeen-technologique-dfki-inria-a.

Our research teams also participate in projects with CISPA in cybersecurity, and Inria also has an agreement with ECDF in Berlin, which brings together players in the Berlin ecosystem.
Associated teams, joint research projects, and visits/stays (PhD, postdocs, etc.) are regularly organized.

Inria supports two initiatives in the United States

  • The JLESC, Joint Laboratory for Extreme Scale Computing: created in 2009 as a Franco-American initiative and partnership with the University of Urbana Champaign and Argonne National Laboratory, it then expanded to include other partners (Japanese and European partners and the University of Tennessee Knoxville) and focuses on computing challenges related to high-performance computing.
  • Inria@SiliconValley brings together a network of Inria researchers and California universities around joint projects and initiatives.

    Support from Inria+alumni

In order to bring together alumni living in these regions of the world, we offer a special space for maintaining links with the Inria+alumni community and with Inria, strengthening ties between members, sharing experiences, facilitating integration into a new environment, and developing personal and professional opportunities.

These “local” communities thrive on the commitment and participation of each member, whether through events, informal meetings, or online exchanges. Joining a country group means becoming part of a dynamic community, benefiting from a local network, and helping to sustain and grow the collective strength of Inria alumni around the world. And if your experience spans several countries, you can of course join several “country” groups ;-)

Please feel free to contact Charlotte Peyrat-Vaganay, our Inria+alumni representative at Inria's International Relations Department, if you have any questions.

☀ As soon as possible, we will involve one or more ambassadors in Germany and the United States in community activities. If you are interested in this role (description here), please contact cecile.bidan[at]inria.fr.
